Counselor
in Training Program
The Counselors in Training (CIT's) must be at least 12 years old. While horse experience is not required it is definitely helpful. Ideally, the CIT's will have already participated in the Red Gate Farm Day Camp as a camper. We need approximately nine CIT's each week to help teach campers about safety, riding and caring for the horses.
For many CIT's just being around and handling horses is a sought-after experience.
We believe, the CIT experience offers a wonderful chance to excel in leadership skills and provide community service. This year we will have two days of training for Red Gate Farm CIT Candidates on May 3 and May 4, 2008. A one time training fee of $50 is required. Expectations will be clarified during this training weekend. A confirmation of the agreed schedule will then be sent to parents for their approval.
We are gearing up for a super year at Red Gate with our great staff, a few new horses and great ideas!
